The History of PLAN
The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada was founded in 1994 to bring together diverse and potentially competing organizations into one cohesive force for social and environmental justice in Nevada. Since 1994, our organization has grown from 12 original founding member groups to a current membership of over 30 organizations. Our member groups receive the benefits of the program work of PLAN, support its mission, pay annual dues, and are entitled to appoint one voting representative to serve on the Board of Directors. The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada also utilizes five external Program Committees involving the Executive Committee members, member groups, staff, and community allies. These Committees are: Economic and Tax Justice, Racial Justice, Immigration, Environmental Justice, and the Nevada Young Activist Project.
