Northern Nevada

 

  Bob Fulkerson is the State Director and co-founder of PLAN.  He worked as Executive Director of Citizen Alert, a statewide grassroots watchdog organization, from 1984 to 1994.  He has also served as adjunct faculty at the UNR School of Social Work, teaching classes on oppression and privilege. A fifth-generation Nevadan, Bob was on the staff of Senator Paul Laxalt while attending George Washington University. Bob serves on the boards of ProgressNow Nevada, High Country News and The Note Ables, a performing arts group for the disabled. He is a 2006-7 fellow in the Rockwood Leadership Program’s yearlong National Fellowship for Transformative Leadership in the nonprofit sector, and a recipient of the “Leadership for A Changing World” Award from the Ford Foundation. Bob received the Arcus Social Justice Leadership Fellowship at Kalamazoo College in 2011. In addition to his work, Bob’s premier loves are his life partner and family, teaching yoga, and all aspects of nature in the Great Basin and Sierra Nevada. email Bob

 

Jan Gilbert is also a cofounder of PLAN and has lived in Nevada since 1982. A teacher by training, she is responsible for the majority of PLAN’s lobbying efforts at the state Legislature, where she has forged invaluable relationships over the past 16 years. Jan's areas of expertise include a range of social and economic justice issues. She is also the staff leader on PLAN’s racial equity report card. email Jan

 

  Rosa Molina was a school teacher in El Salvador for 13 years before coming the US. She attended the National University of El Salvador and received her Masters degree in Education. Rosa served as the Director for Latinos for Political Empowerment in 1997 and began work with with PLAN in 1998. She started the Citizenship Program for PLAN in 2001, and teaches citizenship classes and educates Latino immigrants on the political process via education and GOTV efforts. email Rosa

 

  Joe Edson is a graduate of Georgetown University and is PLAN's techonology director. Joe started as a PLAN intern in 2001 while pursuing an MSW at UNR. Originally from Ohio, Joe now resides in Douglas county with his husband, Dr. Mike Hardie, whom he met while country-western dancing in a Reno lesbian bar. email Joe

Southern Nevada

  Michael Ginsburg is PLAN’s Southern Nevada Director. A Nevada resident since 1976, Michael lives in Henderson with Tod, his partner of nearly two decades. A scientist by training, his primary organizing areas at PLAN include health care, social justice for gender and sexual minorities, and economic justice. Michael brings more than two decades of experience in management, organizing and education activities. Michael also sits on the board of PLAN Action, our c4-affiliated organization. email Michael

 

  Howard Watts III is PLAN’s Field Director. Starting with PLAN in 2008 on a 6-month Generation Change Fellowship, he brings years of organizing, outreach, and public education experience to PLAN. A Vegas native and UNLV graduate, Howard coordinates PLAN’s civic engagement, leadership development and youth programs. He has worked his entire adult life in volunteering and helping others, and currently serves on the boards of GLSEN Southern Nevada and the Pushback Network. email Howard

 

 

  Ikaika Regidor is an organizer at PLAN. He earned his Master’s of Social Work (MSW) in 2011, and has worked as a teaching graduate assistant in the UNLV Department of Special Education and sat on the National Association of Social Work (NASW) Nevada chapter board of directors as the MSW student representative. Currently he serves as the secretary/treasurer on the GLSEN of Southern Nevada Board and is a member on Nevada Statewide LGBTQ Leadership Coalition. Kai specializes in issues of gender and racial justice, small business organizing, Uniting Communities, PLAN's LGBTQ and immigrant rights campaign, and LGBTQ public policy advancement. email Kai

 

Laura Martin is a graduate of Colorado State University with a strong background in social justice issues and community organizing, having organized health care voters for SEIU, working families for Americans for Democratic Action and worked for UNLV’s Child Development Program in West Las Vegas. Laura is a Green for All fellow and Truman Project partner. Laura's areas of expertise include health care, environmental justice and racial equity. Laura is also the southern Nevada staff lead for PLAN's mining accountability work. email Laura
