Thank You for Making 2011 Such a Powerful Year for PLAN and Progressives

Thanks to all of PLAN's supporters over the years and especially for this past year. It is because of your support that as this year comes to an end, Nevada is a more just State than when the year began. Lest we forget all that we have accomplished together, here are a few highlights:

  • PLAN was granted a license for a full power FM radio station by the FCC that will cover northern Nevada. Progressive radio--here we come!
  • For the first time in the Silver State's history, the mining industry lost ground as legislators stripped their power of eminent domain, closed tax loopholes, established a mining oversight and accountability commission, and began the process of removing their sacred status from our Constitution.
  • Camp Sandoville brought hundreds of supports to the steps of the Legislature for three days to demand tax justice.
  • We took three busloads of activists, including dozens of new voters, to the Capitol for "Latinos at the Legislature Day." This no doubt contributed to the demise of over a dozen anti-immigrant measures proposed this year.
  • We worked with our LGBTQ allies and engaged thousands of activists and voters to help ensure that transgender Nevadans are protected from discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
  • In Las Vegas, PLAN began the process of purchasing a building downtown. This space has quickly become a hub for the progressive community and will allow PLAN do devote more of its resources in the the coming years to our campaigns for social, economic, and environmental justice.

Again, thank you for your intelligent and compassionate work. Here's to moving mountains together in 2012!

Best Wishes for a Safe and Prosperous New Year!

Bob
