As people all over the country are opposing economic inequality, greed, and threats to human rights, one multinational mining corporation operating in the American West has pursued a shameful legacy with little public notice.

 

Canadian-based Barrick Mining is the largest gold mining corporation in the world, producing 7.8 million ounces of pure gold in 2010 from 26

At last, concrete proof that Governor Sandoval, despite assertions by himself and his cronies to the contrary, is a less socially awkward policy clone of Jim Gibbons! His solution to addressing a 54% budget gap is to play the “no-new-taxes” shell game and continue to punt the revenue crisis towards the next generation. Thankfully, Senate Majority Leader Horsford is challenging the tactics which have gotten us into this mess in the first place.

Pesky Villagers Standing in the Way of Your Mining Operation?

Fresh out of their relationship with R&R, the NMA may already be in the arms of another as they welcome Davies Public Affairs as their newest member. Davies brags from their website that they have successfully:

"assisted mines, gravel pits, quarries, asphalt plants, and energy projects around the U.S., by building public support and overcoming community and environmentalist opposition to get highly controversial projects approved."

Sounds more like a goon squad than a public relations firm... Pesky villagers standing in the way of your mining profits? We'll take care of them!
